Elevate your game in the Hobie Mirage Pro Angler 14 Kayak. It simply excels at giving you everything an angler needs to catch the biggest and toughest fish. It's designed to give you the confidence to stand and cast, and space to hold eight rods, and the storage and organization needed to bring it all with you. You'll love the innovative H-Rail mounting system which allows you to universally mount just about anything from tackle boxes to clamps, extra storage or cup holders to your Hobie without drilling into the hull. The new Vantage seating system with Boa Lumbar support is the most comfortable seating platform on any kayak, and with fully adjustable back, bottom, height and lumbar support, you'll find the perfect position. Take on greater challenges in the Hobie Mirage Pro Angler 14. This model features the new Guardian retractable transducer, allowing for the use of 3D transducers such as the Lowrance Totalscan and Tripleshot. It also features the new kick up fins, which fold up when they hit an obstacle.
Ordered this so my son and I could go fishing off Dana point. It's a very heavy kayak, but we have ours on a Malone trailer. The seat is very comfortable and you can fish on it all day 10/10. I bought a cheap camper seat for my son to sit in the back of the kayak. The drive pedals the kayak around very well, but Mike also set me up with a watersnake motor for those days where I don't want to exercise. The rudder is very responsive and despite being 14 ft this thing turns on a dime. The MD1080 drive makes it easier to fish structure and around obstacles that you wouldnt usually fish around (breakwalls, jetties etc).
This is my second Hobie kayak that I bought from Southwind, the first being a Hobie Outback. I love my Hobie outback, but this thing is a fishing machine. So easy to stand up while fishing and reach back for anything in the back. The seat is so comfortable for me ( I am 6'3 and 220 lbs). The rod racks make storage really easy. I like the middle hatch with the tackle storage system as well. Keeps all my plastics nicely. Would recommend for any big and tall guys like me.
Ordered a kayak online to be delivered to northeast los angeles. They delivered it less than 6 hours later.
The Pro Angler 14 is a very heavy kayak, with all my gear loaded on it, it weighs 170 lbs. I highly recommend a set of saddles to go on your car rack if you are cartopping this. I have a Ford explorer. Now onto the boat. I love the vantage seat, its really comfortable. The perfect platform to sit out on the lake and fish those trout. What's nice is that you can sit up on the kayak and stretch out once in a while. Really useful for taking a whiz if you need to. The kayak also has a cupholder and tackle box storage so you don't have to take your own tackle box. They really made it easy for you to bring everything you need on the water. The kayak is pretty fast on a full sprint, but definitely not as fast as some of the smaller Hobie kayaks. It's great if you are gonna keep a lot of fish or you need to take a lot of gear out with you on the water.
Amazing! The Pro Angler 14 is everything you need on a fishing kayak. The only disadvantage about these is that they are very heavy, I load mine onto the bed of my truck...
