Kayak Adventure Day
Saturday January 22, 2011 12 P.M. to 4 P.M.
So, you bought a kayak, you've taken classes and you've been out perfecting your skills, now what? Now it's time to get out and use those skills. It's time for an adventure! On January 22, from 12 - 4 P.M., Southwind Kayak Center will host a "Kayak Adventure Day," with guest speaker Alan Feldstein. Alan will do a presentation on "Kayaking in Africa."
About Alan Feldstein
In 1997 after falling 40 feet off a mountain and shattering his ankle rock climbing, Alan Feldstein was
looking for another outdoor sport to keep active. He decided to take a kayak trip in Baja California and
after seeing dolphins, whales and other sea life up close it was love at first sight. Alan became an avid kayaker
and has had opportunities to paddle all over the world including confrontations with Orcas in British Columbia, kayaking
the Hudson River from Albany to New York City, exploring North Vietnam and Turkey. But his real love since 2000 has been
Africa. In 2005 after climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro Alan kayaked in Lake Tanganyika. Then in 2008 Alan, with his business partner
were among the first to kayak off the coast of Tanzania. It was on this trip that they decided to offer this special adventure
to everyone. Alan will take you on one of his trips showing you amazing wildlife, beautiful lodges, and the sheltered bay of
the warm waters of the Indian Ocean.
