Fishing Lessons

First Strokes for Anglers

First Strokes for Anglers

The first of our "fishing" classes, First Strokes for Fishing** is a full-on instructional class for those wishing to learn the basics with the goal of eventually progressing beyond the bay.

Whether you're new to kayaking or in need of a tune-up, this class will introduce you to basic skills needed for paddling and fishing from your kayak in protected waters (harbors, bays and small lakes), and presents a solid foundation for successfully continuing on through more advanced classes. Included are capsizes, reentries, on-water access to your kayak and gear, and other skills which are needed for eventual transition to open-water kayaking.

The majority of fishermen learning to kayak fish will want to take this class in a sit-on-top kayak. But recreation and touring kayaks also make good fishing craft; the choice hinges on where and how you choose to fish, and these types are also suitable for the class.

From November 2009 till March 2010, this class will be run anytime, on a "per request" basis. Call us at 949-261-0200 for details on booking this class.
